On July 10, 2018 Write on Sports interviewed Kyle Mishler, A Goshen College high jump coach. He used to actually be a high jumper for Goshen College and actually holds the record for high jump at Goshen College at six foot eight inches. But now he’s coaching Sam Grewe a person that has bigger accomplishments then him and Simon Graber Miller who is in a great position to beat his record.
The first person we’re gonna talk about is Sam Grewe. He is a Paralympian that has a silver medal in the Paralympics in 2016 and a gold medal from the World Championships in 2015 in high jump. Sam Grewe is known around the world by thousands of people, but Kyle Mishler says that Sam Grewe’s gold and silver medal are his greatest accomplishment in high jump.
The last person I’m going to talk about is Simon Graber Miller which is a person he’s coaching for Goshen College. Simon Graber Miller already has done some great things and is going to college for high jumping after only being a high jumper for three months. In his senior year of high school he finished fifth in the state getting six foot seven inches and that is only one inch away from the Goshen College record already. Kyle Mishler actually wants him to beat his record because that’ll be another accomplishment in his coaching career.
All in all, Kyle Mishler is really a selfless guy that pushes people to be better then him. So, he’s coaching high jumpers that are doing great things to be better then he was, he’s not selfish and wants to keep the record all for himself he wants his own high jumpers he’s coaching. Kyle Mishler seems like a great coach that will accomplish a lot as a high jumper and a high jump coach, he already has a lot of accomplishments that way but there’s a lot more then just that.
