On July 20, 2018, Write on Sports interviewed the new women’s soccer coach Justin Crew. Justin came to the Newcomer center and talked about his coaching career. Crew lives in Mishawaka, Indiana with his wife Jill and there two children, Ethan 12, and Karlee 8. His son loves basketball and his daughter likes hockey. He coached the men’s and the women’s soccer team at the University of North Carolina, Ancilla College, Olivet Nazarene University and Spring Arbor. He did play soccer in college, he played defense and he graduated from Olivet Nazarene University. He started here at Goshen College on April 23, 2018.
He coached the youth level and a lot of D1 colleges. “I love coaching.” He moved to Goshen College because “I like small schools,” and he wanted to get back to a four year school. He is excited about this season. “I think this season is going to be good!” He wants to stay at Goshen College because he has moved a lot and kids don’t like it. His coaching style is calm and he doesn’t like to yell. He likes soccer because there is no timeouts.
“It’s been fun, it’s a good learning experience, and a really growth experience.”
