Basic rules:
- Student educational records are considered confidential and may
not be released without the written consent of the student.
- As a faculty or staff member you have a responsibility to protect
educational records in your possession.
- Some information is considered public. Such "Directory
Information" can be released without the student's written consent.
However, the student may request that this information be considered
confidential as well.
- As a GC employee, you have access to student information only for
legitimate educational interests in completion of your responsibilities
as a college employee.
- If ever in doubt, do not release any information until you contact
the Office of the Registrar at (574) 535-7515 or e-mail at registrar@goshen.edu.
The Office of the Registrar is responsible for the maintenance and
release of student record information.
