Carrie A. Newcomer '81 - released her eighth recording on Rounder Records Sept. 10, 2002, titled The Gathering of Spirits, which includes the title track with Alison Krauss on harmony vocals. Written largely after 9/11, the album presents thoughts on courage, perseverance, bewilderment, assurance and peacemaking. She toured this fall in support of the release, including a benefit in Tucson, Ariz., Oct. 25 with Author Barbara Kingsolver.
