* Every two years Goshen College Theater hosts an international Peace Play Contest

"Torba" brings Balkan refugees' stories to life at GC March 19-20, 26-28

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Imagine having to flee your home and, as a refugee, seek a safe place with your possessions collected in one bag.

The GC cast and crew will be only the second group to work with this innovative script. The production will include live folk music from the Balkans, arranged and composed by former Goshen College student Frances Miller of Goshen, large screen projections of Gopp's photography and a choreographed dance sequence.

As the cast and crew have worked with the play and rehearsed, "it continues to profoundly affect our lives as artists, collaborators, peacemakers, students and members of the human race," Brubaker said. "I think that Goshen College and the community are in for an intense theatrical experience. But more importantly, I think that this play offers us a chance to explore the world of the war torn Balkans, and our own increasingly violent and fragmented world in new and exciting ways."

In the cast: Cody Bailey (Fr., Goshen), Derek Bontreger (Sr., Goshen), Ben Friesen (Sr., Goshen), Cassie Greer (So., South Bend, Ind.), Jessica Iverson (So., Evanston, Ill.), Nicole Miazgowicz (Jr., Hudson, Mich.), Lindsay Nance (So., Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada), Kyle Reinford (Jr., Goshen), Adam Roth (Jr., Akron, Pa.) and Anna Yoder (Fr., Goshen).
