GOSHEN, Ind. – Professor of Bible at Hesston (Kan.) College Michele Hershberger, a popular speaker and author, will be at Goshen College Sept. 17-19 as a guest of the college's Campus Ministries to talk about Jesus of the Bible and the importance of believing.

On Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m., Hershberger will share her faith story during a special chapel session in the Church-Chapel. After a day of visiting with student leaders, faculty, local pastors and classes, she will again give a chapel sermon on the basics of understanding the biblical Jesus for faith on Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. in the Church-Chapel.

Hershberger graduated from Goshen College in 1983 and received a master of arts degree in theological studies from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary. She is the director of youth ministry and chair of the Bible and ministry division at Hesston College. She is also a sought-after speaker for churches, conferences and conventions

Hershberger has written various books, including "Now it Springs Up" with Carol Duerksen and Laurie Oswald Robinson (Willow Springs Down, 2007), "God's Story, Our Story: Exploring Christian Faith and Life" (Herald Press, 2003) and "A Christian View on Hospitality: Expecting Surprises" (Herald Press, 1999).
