Sunday: “After a long awaited restful night with host families, we reconvened at Covenant Mennonite Church for our first performance of the tour. It was a huge success with standing ovations, many pictures, and, afterwards, a delicious potluck lunch provided by the congregation. We said our tearful goodbyes and made our north to Tarpon Springs beach for another evening in the sun. The hour long bus ride was accompanied by a viewing of Spider Man 2, preceded by a new segment that involved Professor Jimin teaching us a new word in Korean. Once we got to the beach, an intense game of tackle football ensued. Vox then had dinner at the nearby Tarpon Springs Turtle Grill and retired at a hotel for the night. Some took a swim in the pool, some stayed up to play card games, and others crashed immediately into bed. It was a relaxing end to day three and tomorrow we head to our next state: Georgia.”

Monday: Despite some people waking up sick this morning, we still all managed to keep it together. In the morning we departed for the Sponge Docks at Tarpon Springs. Due to the somewhat heavy rain, many of the shops we hoped to visit were closed, so we got back on the bus and started our next piece of on-the-road entertainment: 500 Days of Summer and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. After the 6 hour long drive, we arrived at Milledgeville’s First Presbyterian Church just in time to eat supper before performing.

Tuesday: Today we made our way to Atlanta to visit and explore the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Park, which includes his childhood home and church on the same street! We learned about Dr. King’s life and legacy in the Ebenezer Baptist Church before exploring the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum nearby. This was followed by lunch in the Krog District, where we could choose from many different delicious dining options. We ended our day with a concert at Columbia Theological Seminary, followed by a short reception before we headed off to our host families for the night. It was a day full of learning, good food, and high spirits.
